No longer Snead-ed

Example

Per the Dallas Morning News, freshman Jevan Snead has requested a transfer. The announcement may put Snead's bowl eligibility in question leaving Texas with an injured Colt McCoy and backup Matt McCoy (no relation) for gunslinger duties.

While disappointed, I can't say that the move is much of a surprise. Had McCoy been firmly placed on the Texas roster before the season, Snead probably would not have signed a letter of intent with the Horns. With incoming commodities Jonathan Brantley and Jonathan Chiles riding into Austin, and duel threat QB Sherrod Harris already redshirting, playing time would be very scarce. Snead originally offered a verbal to Florida but decommited after it became clear that Tim Tebow would be signed. His saga has become the college version of Kurt Warner. (Post St. Louis Rams days)

Good luck to you young sir...and thanks for the loss(es).

Perhaps you can gear up for a lesser known rivalry?

Come on, now, Scooter. Let's wish him the best. He was a good quarterback, and came into this thing in good faith. Horn fans are neither surprised nor disappointed. With only the most miniscule amount of talent separating him from a possible Texas QB legend, he deserves to ply his craft elsewhere.

The only thing I can't figure out is why he needs to bolt prior to the Bowl Game. Not that it matters...and maybe the hand is dealt now that the secret is out...but seems like he could've done some sort of late registration. I think that the AD of just about any school NOT currently in the top 15 might be able to fit him in somewhere...

Forgive Scooter. Sometimes he's reaching for punchline and good judgment avoids him.

I mean did he really blame the K-State loss, and part of the A&M loss on Snead. Did you watch the games, Scooter? That was an entire team of mediocrity in those games. And, if the defense would have manned up, Snead would engineered quite the comeback in Manhattan after Young and Charles fumbled the game away.

Wouldn't it be great if Snead goes to Sam Houston State and beats out Romar next year?

It will be interesting if he DOES go to TCU since Texas plays them next year.

Roll out the hype machine on that one.
